Lots of work to do today for the week ahead. Tomorrow we take delivery of some chicken eggs and an incubator so that the children can observe them hatching in a few days time. I haven’t done this for a number of years so am looking forward to seeing the children’s reactions to the awesome sight of eggs cracking and little beaks breaking through!
So, much of the planning today has been related to the topic of life cycles and stories about hens 🙂
Yesterday we found time to watch a wonderful, classic old film and then later that evening a much more recent, equally wonderful, but tragic film. The classic was The Philadelphia Story with Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn and James Stewart. True class! The newer one was United 93. When it first came out I was unsure if I wanted to see it due to the harrowing subject of the final minutes of the incredibly brave passengers and crew of the one plane which was thwarted in it’s target on 9/11. The film is a fitting and superb tribute to all those who lost their lives on that shocking day, with many of the air control staff playing themselves.
One photo to share today……our crazy little minx Charley in a pose which is quite common around here. Both our dogs usually have something stuck in their mouths…this ball is just a bit too big for comfort although it never seems to bother her!
