Two weeks today since we broke up for Easter, golly gosh! I’m trying to remind myself that I was actually quite sad to be away from the children for a fortnight, but it’s not working. I do love my time at home. Getting up when I feel like it is always the best bit as I don’t do mornings terribly well 🙂 Come Monday, though, I know that once I’ve taken that initial step out of bed I’ll be fine.
Speaking of school, I was horrified to read in the paper yesterday something that our crazy government wants schools to do. If a pupil is permanently excluded (or expelled in normal speak) then that school must receive an expelled pupil from another school in exchange! The usual and most common reason for a child to be excluded is because they are totally disrupting their class, are violent to others and are unteachable. It’s never done lightly and takes much time and consideration before that decision is made. We’ve never had to do it but we’ve come very close. The welfare of the other children in the class are of prime concern. So now the government proposes that those children receive another violent and disruptive pupil in exchange! Arrrrrrrgh. Unfortunately it’s becoming more and more of a problem with ever younger pupils 🙁 .
On a happier note 🙂 sometime soon Dave and I are planning to visit Cambridge again as a huge new shopping centre has just opened up and we’d like to have a nosy around. There’s also a brand new John Lewis which we haven’t seen yet and I’d like to see if it’s as good as the one we go to locally…… any excuse to visit my favourite shop 🙂
